Deadmines VC speedrun

About a year or two ago, before Burning crusade, me and a few memebers of my guild decided to take a lvl 7 or 8 thru deadmines. Heres the video of it, don't mind the song i know its crude, turn ur volume down if you need to.

Pre-Kara Paladin Healing Gear

Okay, so when my paladin first hit 70, it was hard to find the gear I needed to be able to go into karazhan prepared. So Im going to list a few items for each peice along with a link. All the gear I list will be NON-Heroic gear, if you are able to do heroics, then do so because heroics give better gear.

The starting stats for Karazhan for a Holy Paladin is about 900-1200 +healing, if main healing I suggest 1200ish and also a LARGE mana pool. You will probably only get around 8000 mana with the gear I list which will be enough to do most of Kara.

Armor:

HELM- My favorite, and coolest looking, is the Mask of Penance from the second boss in steamvaults. http://thottbot.com/i27790 (This is actually a set which resembles teir 2 armor, but purple, and is probably the coolest looking paladin peices in the game)

CHEST- Breastplate of Many Graces - Drop in shadow labs from third boss. Amazingly good pre kara chest. http://thottbot.com/i27897

GLOVES - Fathomheart Gauntlets - Drops in Steamvaults. http://thottbot.com/i27806 (yes i know they are mail, but they are very good for PVE pre kara) ***ALSO, a lot of people don't like to use arena gear, but the healing gloves are actually very good, and cheap. I would look into getting season 3 gloves, the +2% critical to flash of light is mighty nice.

SHOULDERS - http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28250 - Aside from them being cloth, are good starting shoulders. Good shoulders are hard to get pre heroics so these would be your best bet.

LEGS - Starcaller's Plated Legguards - From a quest reward in Netherstorm http://thottbot.com/i30299

BOOTS - Boots of Resusciation - Drop from Magisters Terrace, this place is new and a little harder than normal instances but still do-able. http://thottbot.com/i34707 Also if these arn't appealing to you, then go for the PVP vindicators boots.

BRACERS - Primal Surge Bracers - From Black Morass http://thottbot.com/i28194 (and once again, can fill with vindicators until you can get better)

NECK - Sethekk Oracle's Focus - From a quest in Sethekk Halls http://thottbot.com/i29334

BELT - Girdle of Divine Blessing - BOE, Usually on the Auction House for fairly cheap, 30 gold or so. http://thottbot.com/i31202

RINGS - Ring of Convalescence from Honor Hold(Revered). And I would get a pvp honor ring until you get the karazhan ring. http://thottbot.com/i29169

TRINKETS - There are a few different options for trinkets. Lower City prayerbooks 2x are very popular. Lower City(Revered). http://thottbot.com/i30841

Scarab of the Infinite Cycle - drops from black morass, very good also http://thottbot.com/i28190 '

WEAPON - The Essence Focuser - BOE from AH. There are better weapons, but with the same plus healing and just minor int stats. http://thottbot.com/i31304

SHEILD - Cystal Pulse Sheild - BOE, Auction House. http://thottbot.com/i31292

LIBRAM- Blessed Book Of Nagrand - Quest in Nagrand from Nessingwary http://thottbot.com/i25644 Personally I use FOL more then anything else, so this one benefits me the most.

Okay, so thats the gear. Now you get into the enchants.

HEAD ENCHANT - Glyph Of Renewal - Revered with Honor Hold/Thrallmar

LEGS - Either Golden or Silver spellthread - BOE on the Auction House

SHOULDERS - Depends if you are Scryer or Aldor - If you are Scryer then get Greater Inscription Of the Oracle(or normal if you arn't high enough rep) and Aldor get Greater Inscription of Faith (same, get normal if not enough rep).

Now for real enchants- I'm not going to tell you exactly what to get, but it's common sense that you want to even out your stats, you don't want to have to much plus healing and only 7k mana, so use enchants to boost what you feel you are low in. Mainly Intellect/MP5/Plus healing.

Remeber not to go too overboard with the best enchants because it would be a waste of money. The first time you go into kara you could get half your gear replaced by better items. Good luck and I hope this helped.

Arena 101

Okay, a very important part of World of warcraft now is the Arena system. Assuming you are level 70, I'm not going to pretend like you are completly dumb. I'm going to list keys to success in getting a high rating and playing your class the best you can.

1. USE YOUR MOUSE TO MOVE! - Okay, this means, hold down both mouse buttons to run, hold down right click to spin. The thing about this that makes it so important is when, lets say a rogue is on you, he can out run your normal keyboard turn, but when you use the mouse he cant out manuver you because you can do 5 360s in a matter of a full mousepad swipe. When keybinding, it can be difficult sometimes to remeber which keys you binded to what, so write them down if needed. Key binding is a quick way to get that spell off without reaching up to hit the numbers or click with your mouse.

2. DONT UNDER ESTIMATE YOUR OPPONENT! - I have watched videos where people NAKED have beat fully geared s3 players, just by outsmarting them and out playing them skill wise.

3. DONT BE AFRAID TO USE THE OSHIT SPELLS! - This is most important I think for paladins and their bubble. I cant even begin to say how many times me(warlock) and my mage partner have blown up a paladin because he was at 50% and didnt want to waste his bubble yet. Always use a little early, essp vs double dps!

4. KITE! - Kite your oponent as much as possible unless you have the upperhand. If its a Hunter/mage/casting class, run behind pillars as much as possible, this is called pillar huging and you won't make it into higher brakets if you can't do this.

5. DONT LET YOUR TEAMMATE HOLD YOU BACK!- I know you are probably with a friend who you dont want to hurt his feelings, but if you are serious about climbing the Arena Ladder then you better break him the news if you feel he is holding you back. The most important thing in arenas is teammates, without them you cant beat 5 players, or even 1, it take cordination, and communication. VENT IS A MUST!

WoW Tricks: So your'e a Noob.

The hardest part about starting a new MMORPG is that theres a huge learning curve in the beginning. With world of warcraft the learning curve isn't too hard for the normal commands, but understanding what makes players better than other players is. In this post I will discuss things to do when first starting the game.

When you start you will be in one of the starting zones, there are tons of beginner quests to do. Do most of them unless you can't seem to find one, in which case you could skip it to save time and do something else that will get you more experience, or go to one of the wow web sites and look up the cordinates of the location of the quest. A few good WOW websites are www.thottbot.com, www.wowhead.com and www.alakazam.com . I personally always use thottbot . If you are also unsure of what cordinates are then you have to download a Addon, which gives you numbers for where your cursor is on the map(for example 43,20, think of battleship, A-7) The best modification site is www.curse.com and then go to addons. The world of warcraft interface is completly customizable but some of the addons are more complicated than then others, learning those will just take time. Okay back to where to start, so you are doing your quests and skipping the hard/too time consuming ones. If you are following a guide then follow the guide step by step and you will level in no time, but if you are just playing and doing your own thing, sometimes quests arnt the best way to go depending on what level and area you are in.
Professions- Professions are like different jobs you can do while in the World of Warcraft. You can have two main professions, and then Fishing, cooking, and first Aid. I suggest for the first 40 levels atleast get Two gathering professions so you don't waste all your gold on leveling them up instead of leveling your self up. Mining / Skining / Herblism are best for the early levels because it costs you nothing and makes you money while you grind(killing monsters one after the other) or questing.
Making Gold- Having tons of Gold is not really important in the early game, usually as long as you have enough for Food/water and new skills, you are good to go. By the time you hit 4o you should usually have enough to get your mount. The best way to make gold as a lower level(under 55 or 60) is to do the gathering professions. Stacks of Ore or herbs or leather can make very decent money. The big money comes when you hit lvl 60 and level to 70. The first time I leveled from 60 to 70 when Burning Crusade came out i had over 1500 gold when I hit 70 just from mining ore I found while questing and the gold from the quests I had done. At level 70 there are tons of different ways to make gold, including dailys, which now are abundant and easily can make you over 150 gold a day, everyday for a hour or two of questing.
