Paladin Healing - Review and How to 3.1/3.2

Paladin healing all in all is good. You won't be outhealing druids on the meters, but they are still good healers to bring. Blizzard has annouced that they will be revamping them a little bit in the upcoming wotlk patch 3.2 due out probably in a few months.

I will admit that on my 80 paladin it's boring to heal. Although I love healing, I think paladins do need a revamp to be able to be more versitile. They suck at raid healing, and are basically only good for tank healing/over healing. Blizzard has said that they want more than one paladin to be able to come to a ten man without feeling gimped. It would be a very nice change of pace to have a HOT or aoe type of heal, but with these new changes I'm sure there will be nerfs also.

What do you think should be done to the class that could improve their healing without making them OP?

2 ideas:
cause consecrate to heal friendly party/raid members that are standing on it

and/or

cause all overhealing (or a % of it at least) to be divided up evenly and heal up to... say 6 raid members. working like wild growth of course, and healing those with the biggest HP deficits.
